Checkers rules ============== There are two piece types in checkers which move and capture on diagonals: checkers and kings. Checkers can only move/capture forwards and get promoted to kings once they have reached the opponent's base line. Kings can move/capture along all four diagonal directions. Pieces either move from one square to the next or capture by jumping over opponent's pieces landing right behind them on an empty square. Captures are mandatory and have to be completed. If several capture sequences exist the player is free to pick any of them. The player with no legal moves loses the game. The score is the material difference (checkers and kings both count 1). In case the winner has fewer pieces, (s)he wins by one point.
