Apr.2004: New features

Daniel Lidstrom has improved GGSA. It now supports time-stamps and logging of conversations. Also the menus have been re-arranged a little. To use it you need to create directory logs/ in same place you put GGSA.jar. Also, you can create a file called channels.txt where you put all channels you wish to be persistent, like .chat is in old GGSA. Summary of changes:

Time-stamps in channels, private chat, and game windows.
Game windows have title of players.
Menus have been a little modified.
Made persistent channels selectable, through channels.txt file.
Removed all default GGS+/os settings (no more sending of notify + * or such).
Removed `t blah ...' when chatting and private chat.

Older news:

Default Service. In the menu you can select the default game service. Double mouse clicks on clients pop up the default service match requester initialized with the client's name.
User Lists. The two lists in the upper left part of the main window display the clients currently connected to GGS and the recent login/logout history. Clicking on entries once creates or switches to an already existing talk context (see below). Clicking entries on these lists twice opens a match requester for the chosen default service.
Game List. Games currently played and a brief history of finished games are shown in the third list. Default service entries come first. Clicking on an running game entry lets you watch the game.
Talk Contexts. You can now talk to different people, channels, or GGS in different "windows" without having to type prefixes like "tell .chat" or "tell /os". The fourth list displays the currently available talk contexts. Entries are marked with '*' when a new message has arrived. Clicking on an entry once switches the context. You can also pick a context from the context chooser in the lower left corner, which also indicates the current context. Double clicks on list entries delete contexts. "GGS" - which lets you communicate with GGS directly (no implicit tell prefix) - and ".chat" - the global forum - can't be deleted.
Command line history. Use the up/down arrow keys to walk through the command history. Other useful keys are: ctrl-A (beginning of line), ctrl-E (end of line), ctrl-K (delete rest of line), Esc (clear entire line).
